Chicago comedian combines comedy and haircuts in “Monica Barcelona: Bitch, I’ll Cut You,” debuting at the Chicago Women’s Funny Festival.
Chicago, IL - On June 10th, 2012 at 7:00pm as part of the first annual Chicago Women’s Funny Festival (CWFF) the debut of “Monica Barcelona: Bitch, I’ll Cut You” will mark the very first show (that we know of) to combine comedy and live hair and makeup styling. Step into the world of the ultra stylish Monica Barcelona in her onstage salon for an improvised show, where an audience member will get a free makeover and one lucky volunteer will get an actual haircut.
Monica Barcelona is the alter ego of licensed cosmetologist and actress Monique Madrid. As an improviser and sketch comedian, Madrid has performed all over Chicago and in festivals around the country, as well as with The Second City on board Norwegian Cruise Line ships. She's been a stylist for over 12 years and is the go-to for many local improvisers and actors’ hair and makeup needs. Her styling work has also been seen in music videos, commercials and on television. If she’s not performing, she’s making those that are look good. She figured, why not combine the two passions?
