About Windy Lawlor:
Windy Lawlor is a singer/songwriter based in Chicago, IL. Raised on the shores of the Long Island Sound, Windy has been singing and performing since the age of five. Windy started playing guitar and writing her own music in 2005. Windy currently attends Columbia College Chicago where she will receive a Bachelor of Music degree in Contemporary, Urban and Popular Music. She has shared the stage with amazing artists such as Joan Osborne (One Of Us), Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan), Fred Wesley (P-Funk, James Brown). As a pioneer exchange student from Columbia, Windy found successful collaboration at PopAkademie in Mannheim, Germany, one of the very best original pop music schools in the world. That experience led Windy to co-write with pop-legend Herbie Crichlow (Quit Playing Games With My Heart and Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely), Universal Music Publishing’s Michelle Leonard and many other wonderful German and Austrian artists.
Influences include Joni Mitchell, Nora Jones, Incubus, John Mayer, Bonnie Raitt, Kate Nash, The New Pornographers, Fiona Apple, The Beatles, Imogen Heap, Julie London, Erika Badu, Janis Joplin, Feist and countless others.
