Urban Village Church Comes Out: Hope in the Midst of Fear

The news this week is full of young people being bullied into exclusion or suicide because they're gay, lesbian, or transgender. In the midst of this hatred and fear, it is our responsibility to speak out and live hope, to be a community centered on love and radical inclusion.
Urban Village Church--a brand new church with Downtown and Wicker Park campuses--wants the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered communities know that ...we believe God welcomes absolutely everybody to the feast. Being LGBT is not a barrier to grace, leadership, or full participation in the life of our Christian community. Our sexuality and gender identity are gifts from God.
At this gathering, we'll hear briefly from LGBT community leaders and allies and the pastors of Urban Village Church. We'll find out about LGBT spirituality groups that are launching this fall. We'll have a chance to meet each other and to find strength for the journey. And we'll raise a glass to the chance to make a difference.
Join us in the heart of Lakeview to be a witness of love to the world.
