R.I.P. Mindy
It's been a long, strenuous week. On Mother's Day at about 6:30am, I got a phone call from my Dad, crying, that over the night my 17 year old sister rolled her car and died instantly. It was heart breaking :(
She was a cheerleader and loved by everyone. I was astounded by the sheer number of people who came to pay their respects to my sister. Now, usually when you hear about a cheerleader or football player, you think of someone really clickish and snobby (at least I do, having been the fat nerdy kid in school). It made me tear up how she was friends with anyone and everyone. It didn't matter who you were or what group of friends you hung out with, you were her friend!
It also made me very proud to hear that she was always so proud to have a gay brother. Trust me for where I grew up (small town Ohio), that is huge.
Sorry for the sad blog, its just one of those things you just need to talk about to no one in particular, thanks for listening!
