Mimi Project Day 1

My first person is Diana; my mother. Let’s face it with out her I would not be here. I know it was easy raising me nor to understand me but she pulled through and kept me safe. Coming out to her was not easy but in the end she has been there supporting me and accepting me for who I am and what U do. I do Appreciate everything my mother has done for me and there is no words to express How I fell I just know that my life would be so empty and different with out her. So Thank You Mom for everything I Luvs Ya.

In the month of September is known as the month of appreciation onth, taking time to appreciate those in one's life.

With that said Starting Tomorrow through Chicago Pride I will for the next 30 days mention how I met and why I appreciate 30 people in my life. Those who I guess made Mariah what she is today. Though I appreciate everyone in my life there are some that stand out more. So those 30 people will be featured in my daily Blog on Chicago Pride and become a top Friend On Mariah's top Friends on Myspace and facebook if they have one, and remain there till October 31,2008.

Mariah

As you all already know that I along with the gay community had a great loss. My former roommate and great friend have passed recently. I am writing this blog to let out some personal feelings. I do appreciate everyone concerns and feedback. We all have lost someone close to us, but if you are one of the few who hasn’t lost anyone count your blessings. I am dealing with my loss as hard as it is, yet I can’t get over the fact that nearly a week and a half ago I was with my friend we were hanging out and even clubbed that day. Then just a few short days later he is not here. Now I heard some things in the community since this incident, rumors to assumptions to maybe partial fact. Nevertheless what ever one feels the loss was due to should be kept silent. I lived in the gay community long enough to know this, people are going to talk no matter what, and you can’t please everyone. My friend John was a fun guy, he was respectful to me and helped me out in whatever I needed. He was a great friend. I am sorry for those who only knew him through the bars. There was so much more to John than bar hopping. He was someone I considered a best friend, someone I did Love as a friend. I along with everyone who knew him will be missing him. Messages to everyone don’t take anyone for granted appreciate what you have, you never know one day you may wake up and what you treasure the most may not be there.

Oops, I knew I forgot something yesterday but here I go. My last bartender, well bartenders is a tie because the next two are two great people. Loves them both equally, yet these 2 are probably the nicest and cutter of my favorites. One is someone I met when I just started my mark on Chicago, I was learning different faces this one was genuine realistic and got to know a little bit about me. Over the years we talk here and there and he is just one down to earth guy. That bartender is Vasil from Spin. We both were nominated in last years Pressies, and though he didn’t win he is still in my book a great bartender. Want to see him He is @Spin Nightclub for certain every Sunday, & Wednesday’s.

Now the next and definitely last bartender is someone I known for a short while, well maybe not that short a couple years now. This one I got to know hanging out with him on days he was @ the bar on his night off. He since day one treated me kind and with respect, we joke, we laugh, and he hooked me on a deadly drink. So my hangovers I can thank him for. Hmmm. That is Gary @ Berlin. Gary is another attractive person, and is very considerate of others. Working in the scene I see lots of things. Last night example I seen a bartender sling a drink collect the money and walk away. Gary makes an effort to say hi talk a bit to the customer and then serves you. With Gary I feel have my own personal Bartender even with a drink subtitled “the Mariah”. When you get a chance stop by Berlin to see Gary on select Sundays, every Tuesday, Thursdays, Friday & Saturdays.

This next bartender is someone who knew me before I made my mark on this gay scene. Yet he has always treated me the same, I remember him standing in my line @ Hydrate’s door. This friendly bartender is Ricky C from Roscoe’s…. Boy that bar has a lot of my favorites. Ricky is always fun to be around make me laugh he reminds me of my brother a lot since I don’t have much family here in Chicago Ricky gives me that sense of family considering Roscoe’s is like my second home anyway. Overall Ricky is awesome because he is Ricky. Anyone who is a bar person has their bartender’s that enjoy and being in a strange bar one kind of gets a sense of which bartender to order from as a customer we can tell which bartender is going to be friendly, who actually can be fun. Not looking for those bartenders who are just looking to make their tips or just there to be there. With Ricky I always had that sense of comfortless. What do I mean?
