George Bush...Most Defunct President in History?
So I'm sure by now many of you have heard the new report from the White House that Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons was suspended in 2003. President Bush claims that he was notified of new "information" on Iran in August of 2007, but was told only last week of the information currently brought to light. How stupid is this man? I mean he is decepting the world yet again and trying his same tricks that he did with Iraq. Numerous sanctions have been placed on Iran for their supposed pursuit of nuclear arms. I'm not saying that I agree with Iran on most things. However I am saying that I don't believe it to be right for the Bush Administration to mislead people into believing something that is not true. These sanctions she be reanalyzed immediately. Dick Cheney has come out saying that Iran will face further consequences from the international community if it continues its enrichment of uranium. I'm sorry but the United States does not consist of the entire international community. This administration is going to have a hard time convincing the rest of the world to continue reprimanding Iran when they have no proof they are doing anything wrong. Another thing that bothers me about this is that when George W. Bush took the inaugural oath he swore to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and essentially this country as a whole. I'm sorry but I have very little faith in a man who can barely account for his own administration. I mean if President Bush knew about some "new" information on Iran all the way back in August why does it take him this long to find this out when it was a part of the information brought to light in August? I mean there has been sabre rattling against Iran basically all year by this administration all for nothing. I mean for God sake the President of the United States of America is supposed to be the leader of the free world. If he wanted that information he could have gotten it right away, especially seeing that the information was conclusive from 16 different intelligent agencies. There is no reason why it took til now for him to get this information. I honestly believe that George W. Bush is the most defunct president in history. He can't even hold his own administration accountable and never admits when he is wrong. He should be impeached for crimes against the republic, negligence on the account of others, putting this country in direct danger, lying to this country and to the rest of the world, and for basically failing to uphold his oath as President of the United States of America. The sad thing is is that we as Americans knew about most of his lies and tactics back in 2004 when we voted him back into office so in essence we are the dumb ones for voting him back into office. Fortunately I was not able to vote in 2004 so I cannot count myself as one who voted for this decades greatest error. Well I'm done with this segment for now. I just want to let you the reader know that yes I have been writing from a predominantly Democratic view point, however I am non biased, I just call the shots as I see them. That is where President Bush and I differ, I am not afraid to speak what I truly think and feel, I will be brutally honest and will tell people what they need to hear, not necessarily what they want to hear.

Hillary at her worst
Alright so today I was doing my normal political gerrymandering (i know that word is used in the complete wrong context but i like the word so go with it) on CNN today when I came across something rather unusual and pathetic. The Clinton Campaign in its latest attempt to fling mud at Senator Obama has made a baseless attack at him claiming that Senator Obama had written in a KINDERGARTEN ESSAY that he wanted to be president someday and is using that as proof that he has had motives to run for the presidency even though he has claimed that he had not before he announced that he would. How pathetic is that? Seriously, honestly i remember being young and saying I want to be president some day too (and i still do) I also think it's safe to say almost every child out there has entertained that thought at one point or another. Senator Clinton is also claiming that Senator Obama has no plan for healthcare...where has she been these past 6 months? Senator Obama has had a clear cut health care plan laid out on the table since May of 2007. Another thing that makes Senator Clinton look very hypocritical is how 23 days ago she said she would not worry about attacking fellow Democrat contenders but instead attack the issues facing our country. Well my friends the last 19 of those 23 days has been spent smearing the names of Senator Obama and John Edwards. This is not what Americans want or need. No wonder why so many people are turned off by our political process. People get sick and tired of the immature smear campaigns. I would understand if the Clinton Campaign was bringing up legitimate points but come on using a kindergarten essay as a basis for an attack? The reasoning for all this is coming down to the fact that Senator Obama has according to the latest AP polls taken the lead in Iowa and has severely closed the gap in New Hampshire. Oh yea, another thing, this whole ideal about Obama planning on a bid for the presidency. Come on Senator Clinton everyone knows that you have been planning this bid since you were First Lady of Arkansas, and that your time in the US Senate was only a pit stop and a launching pad for you to run for president. STOP BEING A HYPOCRITE!!!! The best and the worst comes out in people when under pressure. Senator Clinton has promised a new kind of politics and not these stupid childish games that get us into political deadlock. Well look what's happening I see no difference in her campaigning strategy from anyone else's in the past 20 years. As an American I want to see someone strong lead our country. Not someone that can't accept the fact that not all people agree with them. Someone that is open to many ideas and ways of life. Someone that is not hypocritical and sticks to what they say. Someone that knows how to keep things professional and not flash the gender card when they feel they are being bullied. I want someone that will tell Americans the God honest truth not just what we want to hear. We need someone that embraces diversity...because diversity my friend is what makes America such a great country. So enough of all the childish smear campaigning...focus on the issues at hand...stop the personal attacks...focus on the job you're fighting for...I want to see who really wants the job of President of the United States of America.

I SUPPORT OBAMA '08

If I Were President
Alright so I was watching the democratic debate last night and well lets just say I was less than thrilled. The people that made the most sense (Joe Biden, Dennis Kucinich) don't even have a chance, which is very sad. I'm sick of these people already, we have another year of these people going back n forth at each other? Obama talks about a new kind of politics, well honestly I'm not seeing you doing anything different than anyone else.
Anyways if I were president things would be different. The Freedom of Information Act would actually be adherred to. I mean if we elect these people into office we should be able to "check up" on them and see what exactly it is that they're doing. The people have the power to put people in office and we have the power to take them right back out. So we should be able to see what exactly is going on in Washington and what exactly our tax payer dollars are going to.
Which brings me to my next point. Recently NASA conducted a survey on the safety of our airlines which cost the United States Treasury 11 million dollars (why it would cost that much to ask people some questions I have no idea). Anyways after NASA got the results from this 4 year survey they immediately decided that they would NOT release the results to the public because they feared that it would cause panic and be another blow to the already faultering airline industry. Excuse me, but since when is the economy of an industry more important than the safety of the American people???? Another thing we provided the money to fund this survey so we sure as hell better be able to see the results. 11 million dollars might not be much in the macro economics of this country but still its 11 million dollars that could have gone towards something better like education.
Which brings me to my next point. I've realized that they barely ever bring education up in these debates anymore. Why is that? Why are we...the United States...the symbol of freedom and democracy around the world lagging in education? Why are we ranked 29th in math and science instead of number 1? With all the technology and advances we've made don't you think we should be in the top 3 in everything? Education is the cornerstone of this country, we need to start investing in OUR future again or else we are in for a world of pain. We need to bring our schools out of a 19th century framework and into the 21st century. Mandate year-round school, studies show the children retain knowledge more readily than if they have a 3 month break. They would still have breaks but at 1 or 2 week intervals throughout the year. Also fund more science and math academies to bring America back to the top where we should be. Abolish the No Child Left Behind Act, this is doing nothing but hurting these kids and eventually in turn hurting us as well. TEACHERS...probably the most important profession out there right? Well let's pay them like they should be paid at a minimum of $30,000/year, these are the people that shape and mold the minds of our future they deserve better! Also put people in the classroom that can actually teach and know what they're talking about, it does no good to have a teacher that got their degree in physical education yet is teaching a math class. Let's smarten up here people an investment in education is an investment for our future.
Have you ever driven down the interstate and ever really taken pride for the road you're driving on? Sounds weird right? Think about it though, these roads, schools, public works, everything publicly funded this is OUR infrastructure and we should take pride in it. Well this administration is taking our infrastructure (quite possibly our most valuable asset)away from us. The neo-cons in Washington are proposing selling off our highways to countries like Spain and Dubai. What the hell is going on here??? Are our legislators that irresponsible with our money that they have to sell off OUR infrastructure to foreign companies because we don't know how to budget properly???? We need to get people out of Washington that have their heads stuck up the special interest groups asses and people into office that are fiscally responsible and actually care about the American people.
Which brings me to another point. I previously stated that we the people put these people into office. Honestly though I am quite embarassed. Look at our current Congress it has an 11% approval rating you know who had a higher rating when he was at the lowest of lows???...OJ Simpson at 16%. That is sad as hell. But that's besides the point. We elect these people to represent our wants and needs for our lives. Yet it seems that they cater to the special interest groups (ie the oil industry, cable companies, unions, etc.)and to hell with the people that actually matter. I will laud Senator Obama on the fact that throughout his campaign he has not accepted any money from lobbyist groups and has still managed to rake in more money than any other candidate. This is quite impressive and shows that the special interest groups aren't the only ones that can foot the bill on things. Our legislators need to start listening to us or their terms in office will swift and meaningless.
I'm a middle class worker. I go to work everyday and work hard for my money, I get my paycheck and look at my check stub and half the time it seems like the government is banking more than I am. We need to fix this tax code. Why is it that Warren Buffet (the second richest man in the world) was only taxed a fraction of 1% of the 40 million dollars he made last year? And here I am a middle class citizen busting my ass day in and day out trying to make a living and I get taxed to hell and back. There is something wrong with this. The upper class citizens aren't going to go out and spend all their money. The "trickle down" effect has yet to show itself. The upper class citizens are smart they invest their money, the don't go out and blow all their earnings. Our economy is on the brink of another recession (although it seems we never got out of the last one) lets reconfigure this tax code to how it should be. Slap a heftier tax on the top 1% of this country and lessen the load of the middle class. We've tried this alternate route now for almost 7 years and it's obviously not working, let's try something new.
I guess I should talk about the war as well. It's like the elephant in the room that everyone sees but no one wants to talk about. From a military perspective we are starting to very slowly turn things around, however from the more important political perspective it's a disaster zone. Many people call for immediate withdrawal from Iraq. Bad idea, we need to maintain a presence there and do a gradual withdrawal based on benchmarks. People don't realize that if we pull out all at once it's just going to create a vaccuum and we think it's bad now...well it would a hell of alot worse. We need to hold the Iraqi government accountable for its actions and follow through with what we say and stop handing them blank checks which is ultimately draining our treasury. If we say we're gonna withdraw support if they don't reach a certain benchmark within a certain amount of time then we need to do it! All of this going back on our word is undermining American security. These people see that as a weakness and they will try to exploit our weaknesses to their fullest trying to wane support for the United States. We need to slowly withdraw our troops bringing home all but 50,000 by December 2008. People argue that American deaths have gone down significantly in the month of October. Well 1 American death is a death too many.
Since I'm on the topic of the middle east I might as well talk about the other cloud that looms over us...oil. Everyone knows that a majority of the worlds oil is in the middle east, which is also the hotbed of most of the worlds conflict these days. We can not depend on oil any longer with relations being as shaky as they are. We need to take action on finding new fuels and alternative energy not just talk about it. America is supposedly a beacon for technological superiority around the world, then why is it after the oil shortages in the 70s that Brazil has a 0% on oil dependency. Why have they been able to ween itself off of oil and on to alternative fuel sources? Yes this is going to take time to do and introduce to the American people but its not a matter of if anymore its a matter of when. We need to make this investment, people think $3.50/gallon is alot, well this is just the beginning it's not going to go down, it's just going to keep going up. As president I would push for mass production of affordable hybrid cars. I say hybrid because we aren't going to be able to ween ourselves off of oil overnight so we need to ease ourselves into a transition meanwhile saving money, becoming less dependent on oil, and also helping the environment. This administration has said they've been looking into alternative energy, well guess where most of the funding has gone to for them "looking into things"...thats right the oil industry. Oil is not going to last much longer. If we don't do something now then world war three is imminent. Both China and India are growing at alarming rates and they will be clamoring to get to oil reserves. What happens when the wells run dry? War my friends is what will occur because everyone will be fighting over last bit of oil.
Well, I could go on and on...maybe ill make a series of this...lol...anyways people need to start getting more involved in government. WE hold the power in our hands, what we do with it is OUR decision. Stand up for what you know is right. Don't be complacent with the way things are. It takes one voice to start a movement, and movements change the world. When I turn 35 in about 15 years I will run for president...so vote Zulkowsky in 2024!

Clarification
Alright so many of you have seen my myspace as of late...and for those of you that haven't...well it's all decked out for Christmas. And that's where lay the problem...I've had alot of people giving me hell about it...idk but it seems pretty childish to me to be hounding someone for how they have their myspace...i mean come on don't you ppl have other things to do?...not that i should have to explain myself but id just like to clarify some things...yes i love christmas...it really is the most wonderful time of the year...not even the holiday necessarily...just the whole festive feeling...another thing ppl dont understand with my "obsession"...christmas is more a way of life for me...i try to always live with that feeling of hope and love for one another and liven up other peoples lives with the joy and humor that just comes naturally to me...i love helping others i always look for the best in someone and always find the positive points in a rough situation...i try to embody that christmas spirit every day of the year...everyday is christmas for me not just a day or 2 out of the year...honestly i believe if more ppl were like that we would be much better off...idk maybe im a bit of a romanticist and not much of a realist...if that makes me a dork then so be it...but dont judge me because of it!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
