A Million Thank-You’s
Grateful:
With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, I find myself in an attitude of gratitude more than usual. My friends will tell you, I’m a touch corny when it comes to always thanking people and appreciating their impact. I get that from my Sainted Parents; who always take the time to appreciate.

Being thankful is easy when you interact with quality people of community. And, at the risk of tooting my own horn, I have to thank my business partners at ChicagoPride.com Steve Long and Matthew Inawat. On a daily basis, they pour time and treasure into ChicagoPride.com and its community outreach. I am so grateful for the opportunity to partner with them and for their support in friendship. Thankful!

ChicagoPride.com has provided so many with the opportunity to voice their opinions and mission. I’ve always been amazed at how often our weblogs are read and still wonder why on earth anyone would care what I had to say. But as of today, my dorky blog has been viewed more than one million times. I am blown away at that kind of number, but share in my fellow bloggers enthusiasm to keep community alive in our posts. If you’re not blogging yet, I’d encourage you to try it!

Enough can’t be said for the marvelous friends I have! I have been so lucky to meet and know great people. My work in the community affords me countless chances to meet interesting folks. In the midst of that work, I am loved and cared for, by people of great quality. My friends are each so different and their involvement in my life provides unique blessing.

Hang around me for more than five minutes and there is a chance you’ll hear me talk about my Bosom Friend David, or my best friend Isaiah. These two are both so different, but have an amazing impact on my life, every day. There is simply not enough time or chance to thank them for their amazing investment in my life. Thankful!

Who are you thankful for? What comes to mind when you hear the word gratitude? Is there someone you should call and thank? If there is one benefit, other than delicious food, on Thanksgiving, it would be the reminder to be thankful.

Lastly, I am forever in a place of thanks and appreciation of my Sainted Mom and my Sainted Father! I count their involvement and steadfast love over my life as THE greatest thing I’m thankful about. (I’m also pretty grateful Mom showing me how to cook a turkey!)

Grateful!

Over The Rainbow
A Benefit of Hope:

I love Jake Gyllenhaal!
I Won't Quit You!:
With all of the talk about whether or not I should be allowed to love who I want, I am putting it out there. . . I love my hopeful future husband Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal.

Those of you who know me, know how much I appreciate a handsome and talented chap like thirty-one year old Jacob, or Jake as I like to call him. The obvious point I’m making here is, laws or not, I can choose whom I love any time I wish. I may not have all the rights with that love, but someday, I will.

In the meantime, I’m going to love, date, and meet who I want. Agree or not. Judge me or not. I am a happy man in this life that God has given me! And God loves me just fine!

It gets better!

Cheers Dammit!

The White Room Challange
Creation:
Chicago Lost and Found President and founder, Mitch Pennell is at it again! The creative chap is being featured on HGTV’s The White Room Challenge this Friday.

Known for his uncanny ability to turn junk into jewel, Mitch is sure to wow audiences with his transformation. This is also a great opportunity to highlight Chicago Lost and Found, a not-for-profit organization committed to art education and inspiring creativity throughout the city of Chicago. They re-purpose materials with no value or which would otherwise become landfill and transforms it into unusual art and functional furnishings.

Sales from the creations assist in generating funds to provide hands-on art education anywhere there is a need. Simply put, they take trash and turn it into treasure; all the while teaching folks the importance of art, creativity, and making a difference in their community.

Some of you might recall back in August, I told you about Mitch’s great help to me with the placement of my art collection. With everything I’ve acquired over the years, he’s this art collector’s dream.

Cheers to creativitiy!
