i'm all hilary these days listening to her new cd. it's actually quite good. easy to listen to, upbeat, and different. i wish for her next cd she would combine the styles of her two cds metamorphosis and dignity.
Since you commented about having a bit more non-asian in my blogs I'd like to take this opportunity to enlighten you about the American life of this Asian boy. This blog is dedicated to you... :)
1. I own a Circuit membership card which I acquired for those Sunday Latin nights I attend and where I learned how to dance Cumbia (sorry if misspelled). I already learned beginning Salsa since college.
2. My hubby is white. He's not as tall a godzilla and he doesn't have long eyelashes to swat flies with. I actually don't talk in my language about him.
3. I do not know karate. I do not carry a samurai with me. I also do not know how to easily climb a bamboo tree.
4. Last Saturday I just attended a Rice and Potato party...lol
5. I go to sidetracks frequently.
6. I am fluent in English and even speak too much in English sometimes around my Filipino friends that it makes their noses (ears for non-Filipinos) bleed.
7. I don't walk five steps behind my hubby and I speak freely.
8. Although I don't drink a Soy Latte with a double shote, I do have a Venti Mocha Frapuccino. I'd take yoga and pilates but I already spend enough time at the gym.
9. I do not own a Barong tagalog and I wear a tie at work.
10. I do not have the Last Supper painting on my dining room wall. I do not own extremely large wooden spoon and fork that would be hung up my wall.
11. Although I do not think Uncle Ben's Rice is the rice of my people and Wendy's Madarin Chicken Salad is the salad of my people I still consume them.
Of course, I am being facetious.

Tuesday was Volleyball. These are members of SenAsian mix, Asian Invasion, and Gaysha. Fun fun fun.
My hubby just left morning of Tuesday to MN. He lives there. I miss him already....

It does not mean I do not have friends who are non-Asians. Most of the people I play volleyball with and non-Asians. Most of the people I play badminton with are non-Filipinos. My friends at work are all white. Now, to me, it even seems funnier because my Filipino friends tease me sometimes, calling me AMBOY (American Boy) for not being Asian/Filipino enough. I also think since all the other blogs feature mostly non-asians, I'd rather go at it with this blog this way. It is my life after all. :)
My parents don't have racial issues IF that's what you're implying. And I be with anyone I want. I'm an "equal opportunity."
I would not know how to categorize him since I don't know what all those mean. And obviously, he's one non-Asian I do....LMAO!!!
Also, I used to be a frequent guess at Circuit every Sunday (hello...latin night). I even have a membership card. I do not know any other Asian who has one.

I think what's great about this is the simplicity of the sentences. But when it was read in the film it had so much impact on me. These days we enjoy stories of love and how love is powerful, how it's unconditional, how it's painful, how it's risky. But all that is gone now. These days love seems to be measured...measured by time, measured by money, measured by beauty, and measured by security.
Forever I will think that love is given and never taken. It is given without any expectation of it's return. It cannot be measured. It cannot have conditions. That's just me.
