Like My Glasses?
The shop that sells them, and many other exclusive, uber-hip and trendy models, D/Vision on Division and Wood, are offering 15% off Saturday, June 2.
As part of "Do Division," an annual event of shopping and charitable fundraising along the Bucktown Boulevard, D/Vision is serving up mimosas and pastries as well as discounts to help raise funds for a new and safer playground at the Hans Christian Andersen Academy.
Do Division daytime is then trumped by Do Division night as the eateries and bars take over offerting a special Time Out Chicago Magazine martini. There's even a trolley to take you from place to place. Free ride = total score.
Check it out at www.do-division.com.

You Were On Reality TV, and You're Gay?
Brilliant! Get a publicist. You'll need one to hold onto that pop culture status people are so fond of.
The management of JP Calderon has recently announced that the professional Volleyball player, Fox "Survivor" gay contestent, Instinct Magazine cover feature and "Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" model is now available for public appearances. New store openings, toddler birthday parties, underwear expositions and community fundraisers, he can show up at all of them for "meet and greets, event hosting and photo opportunities."
The phone must be ringing off the hook, and I'm not even kidding.
From my recent observations, acquiring someone from TV with abs and a tan seems to be an LGBT community event must have. People no longer rally in support of "the cause" as much as they rally to see who's tauting it. Buy a ticket to the annual NCLR gala--John Ameachi will be there. Fundraise for AIDS; Liz Taylor is coming (Granted, Taylor's tan and abs may not be the draw in this case).
Well, as they say, if you can't beat 'em...
Here's wondering how much JP's day-rate is?

Family Jewels
It's a jewelry ad. For real.
Reality TV contestant, model, QTN correspondant, memoirist and "Dante's Cove" Season 3 star Reichen Lehmkuhl has teamed up with Love and Pride Jewelry to create a new line of aviation-inspired jewelry for men called FLY NAKED with Reichen--It makes sense 'cause he was in the Air Force too, y'all.
The design concept takes off from such flying motifs as wings and propellers with jewelry crafted from sleek titanium.
And as much as I at times wonder why Lehmkuhl's 15 minutes hasn't ended already, I have to give the man his props, or propellers in this case, for his constant advocacy against the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. Lehmkuhl and LoveandPride.com are donating 10% of every FLY NAKED Collection purchase to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN). So, that's pretty cool.
Pieces from the collection run from $30-$7000 and can be purchased directly from loveandpride.com.

Logo won't let me down!
I got an advance copy of "Noah's Arc" The Complete Second Season" today, and I'm uber-stoked to watch it.
Readers of the last two issues of PINK Magazine may start to feel its editor favors the programming of Viacom's LGBT cable network, Logo, over that of any other LGBT-based entertainment production or production company. Word from the magazine's interior comfirms that such speculation is true!
I just love me some CBS News on Logo, the Big Gay Sketch show needs some work but it's totally fun, Jacob Miller gave me kisses and the company's Manager of Public Affairs and Communications is like super cool, all despite the fact that Logo's developing a Lance Bass reality program. (Really? Lance Bass--well, okay, I guess.)
And no, "NA" may not be as gratuitous or as guilty a pleasure as here!'s (sic) "Dante's Cove," [See my May 8, and May 14, blog posts] but it covers an often-overlooked member of the LGBT constituency with good-humor, sexuality and a season one cameo by Wilson Cruz--who is going to date me--someday--hopefully--probably never.
Logo's "Noah's Arc: The Complete Second Season," will be available on DVD via Paramount Home Entertainment in retail stores June 12.

Sleep with one executive
And suddenly you're on the host committee for Chicago fundraising events.
My role as host committee member obligates me to invite friends to this aformentioned event.
Consider yourself invited.
