Bears, Broadway and Beyond

For people who want to experience the thrill of a Broadway show, they no-longer have to travel to Manhattan, many of the big hits on Broadway are now making their first run in theaters all across the U.S.

Tina Fey once again reprised her flawless imitation of Vice Presidential Dingbat Sarah Palin, but hopes the demand subsides after November 4. She really doesn't want this woman in office and would rather sacrifice her comic work than put with four years of Palin.
It's an easy gig for Fey since she doesn't have to write much material as most of it is just ludicrous quotes from Palin herself.
Obama and McCain meet for their first ever U.S. presidential debate- polls show that swing voters favored Obama overall, even though McCain put out banner ads earlier in the day declaring himself the winner! Do you think he's a little out of touch?
Diaper Fasion Shows are being held in Japan with hopes to reducing the stigma of diaper use for adults. Will Louis Vitton be putting out a new line of pampers?
Or better yet, will designing diapers become a challenge on Project Runway? We can see the judges proclaiming "You aren't showing us anything new here" or "Honestly, white is so passe" or maybe host Heidi Klum saying "We ask you to come up with something to make shizer in, and this is what you give us?"
And our hats of to movie star Paul Newman, the actor best known for playing a closet gay football hero opposite Liz Taylor in the film Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and his delicious line of salad dressings. He died over the weekend at the age of 83.

Marching for Matthew Shepard

It's been 10 years since college student Matthew Shepard was brutally murdered in the town of Laramie, Wyoming.
How far have we come in creating laws to protect queer folks from violent crimes?
On today's show we've got Wayne Besen- best known for Anything but Straight: Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth, a tell-all book about the deceptive practices behind ex-gay groups and Andy Thayer from the Gay Liberation Network.
Wayne will be speaking in Chicago this Saturday Sept 27th for the 10th annual Matthew Shepard March protesting the murder of Matthew Shepard and all victims of hate violence. The rally starts at 8pm on the corner of Roscoe and Halsted followed by a march through the neighborhood.
The controversial induction of Fundamentalist Radio personality James Dobson into the Museum of Broadcast Communication's Hall of Fame has a lot of people up in arms. Why would they ask him of all people? Is this just a cry for help from antiquated institution that isn't even relevant anymore to secure money or is something else going on here?
Check out Dump Dobson to learn how you can protest against Dobson's inclusion into the Hall of Fame.
Is the Bush administration a shop-o-holic? The chilly reception to the 700 billion dollar bailout and a deficit out of control shows us a Republican party struggling to handle their obsession with spending. Will somebody please hire Washington a therapist or get them to find a hobby other than spending money.
Mama's Milk Ice Cream? People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are putting pressure on the Vermont Ice Cream company Ben and Jerry's to substitute human breast milk instead of cow milk in their ice cream.
The demand comes in the wake of news reports of a Swiss Restaurant which uses cows milk in three quarters of all the dairy products it serves. How about a Moma's Mounds blizzard sundae?

Teri Yaki Becomes Amanda

Teri Yaki's been working hard to transform herself into Amanda Steinstein, for our very special What Not to Wear/Feast of Fools viewing party at Hydrate in Chicago on Oct 10.
We'll have a blast watching on a jumbo screen as we raid Amanda's closest, try on some of her clothes, stalk her around town and then surprise her with a makeover in this reality TV show.
The crew told us that our episode is probably the gayest one ever and that Amanda was the most challenging person (read:worst dressed) they have ever had on the show. This is a must watch episode- plus, prizes, games, gifts and giveaways! I didn't happen to mention the bar is "hosted" did I? Glug glug!
Listen as Teriyaki shares her roller coaster drug bust story and shares her insight into Chicago's drag wars and why some people find drag queens so offensive.
Is everyone coming out? Lindsay Lohan shyly confirms her lesbian love affair with DJ Samantha Ronson on the sex-advice radio show Loveline.
Meanwhile- Clay Aiken's fundamentalist female fans are shocked and awed over his bold coming out on this week's People Magazine.
But honestly, who didn't know Clay Aiken was gay? He was just saying what everyone was thinking.
A Chinese Girl was arrested for forcing her college roomates to get fat. Her roommates thought she was the granddaughter of a mob boss and forced them to give her money and to do ridiculous things like gain weight. If the girls didn't do what she said she could make them disappear.
Condalezze Rice got skipped over for Sarah Palin and how kooky Kirk Cameron kisses women in movies without breaking his wedding vows.

I am offended by the gay community of Chicago right now! Teri Yaki can get out there and publically talk about doing weed and everybody thinks its just SO funny! I had my drug problem, never publically talked about it, and I'm chastized for it. I don't want to hear that weed and meth are two different things....they're both illegal drugs.
It just amazes me that one queen who is very vocal about her opinions an be condemned for her issues, while another who is kissy kissy with everyone is applauded for the same thing.
