I love old school rap music. Who can't forget the intense work of Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash or Salt-n-Pepa?
I'll always have a HUGE place in my heart for the quirky beatboxing of the Fat Boys and Tigra 'n Bunny D (better yet) L'Trimm. For folks like me, rap music became the urban sound of the early 1980s that symbolized a huge change in music and self-expression.
On today's show we have two fabulous artists in the house, our Chicago based dirty gay rapper, Johhny Dangerous, and UK rapper Q-Boy.
We had a lot of fun doing a show with Johnny D last month and we're glad he was able to bring over his pal QBoy over to the studio.
Among only a few openly gay rappers in hip-hop, they are the leading faces in a new wave of music known as "homo hop".
QBoy is visiting New York and Chicago to shoot some music videos, including one for up and coming song with his local pal Johnny Dangerous. Wait until you see some of the outtakes of the video as they lube each other up. Hot!
Q-Boy has been spreading his truth-telling lyrics of accepting yourself and celebrating joy to audiences around the world. He charms you with his message of fun and getting funky.
When he's not busy rapping and recording music, Q-Boy does a lot of outreach work in high schools in the U.K fighting homophobia and teaching teenagers to express themselves through rap music.
Listen as we talk about how to fight homophobia in high school, why foreskin is underrated, how gangsta rap took over during the 90s and the trans mayor in Oregon.
Yo! It's Feast of Fools.

Charles wants to call you "Sir." On today's show we have queer indie rocker Charles S McVey to play for us. Listen as Charles seduces you in his distinctively gravely voice. We're sure you'll appreciate his open and honest lyrics.
We're also joined by his hot drummer Erik Kessinger and his shy but sexy bassist, Steve Bagwell who round out this fantastic trio from Lawrence, Kansas. We joke that Lawrence is the heart of the liberal Midwest, but it is a liberal college town and there is some good music in the town. This group is happy to call themselves "townies."
Having two straight men in your band might make you feel like the only gay in the village, but Charles and his band mates represent a whole new generation of queer indie music in which straight men are happy to partake.
They are hitting both the straight and gay venues all over the Midwest, bringing bold, honest songs about desire and submissiveness to crowds who may not at first be receptive but wind up becoming dedicated fans.
Join us as we talk about common mistakes people make in engineering their own music, bridging the gap between straight and queer music, the mainstreaming of leather and why straight men are probably as afraid of getting a girl pregnant as gay men are about contracting a sexually transmitted disease.
PLUS! Charles plays for us three of his songs from his album "Modern Living" unplugged and raw in the home studio.
Isn't he cute? Here's a sexy photo of Charle's incredibly rocking drummer Erik Kessinger, posing for me in a leather sling after their hot set last Friday at Jackhammer, as part of the Flesh Hungry Dog Show.
This photo reminds me of some publicity shots hunky actor Chris Evans took a couple of years ago to promote his upcoming appearance in a Fantastic Four movie. Although the look resembles like he's stay up way too late looking at bad porn.
Three times a charm! Thank you for your votes- Feast of Fools.

CHICAGO, IL - We're thrilled to announce that Feast of Fools won the 2008 People's Choice Podcast Award for "Best GLBT" podcast.
This is the the third year in a row the daily talk show hosted by Fausto Fernós and Marc Felion won in the "Best GLBT" podcast category in the People's Choice Podcast Awards.
Host Fausto Fernós says: "In an election year full of highs and lows for the GLBT community, we're thrilled to be part of a sweeping change in how New Media is affecting the cultural and political landscape of the nation, and also the world.
Co-host Marc Felion says "This award is a tribute to everyone at Feast of Fools, including every guest on the show, the faithful listeners that have supported us and our sponsors who understand the value our message of inclusivity. We thank you because we couldn't have done it with out you!"
The People's Choice Podcast Awards are an annual set of awards given to the best podcasts as voted by the general public. Run by Podcast Connect Inc., the Podcast Awards had over 350,000 people vote for their nominated podcasts in 2006, with nearly 1000 people attending awards ceremony.
Fausto Fernós and his partner Marc Felion spearheaded the podcasting revolution in February 2005 with their daily comedy talk show, the Feast of Fools. As the first gay couple in history to produce a podcast the show's irreverent look at extraordinary news, interviews and cultural trends defined the podcast talk show genre and continues to rank on top of the charts as one of the most popular programs available online.
Feast of Fools is available for free through the iTunes Music store: http://tinyurl.com/feastoffools or through the website, www.feastoffools.net.
What a voice, what a fabulous gal!
On today's show we Jen Porter, Chicago's soulful diva rocking the house, singing songs of celebration, acceptance and healing.
Although we have much to celebrate, California, Arkansas, Florida and Arizona all passed measures severely limiting same-sex loving folks the same rights that everyone else takes for granted. That puts a couple of off-key notes in what would have otherwise been a fabulous election night.
Jen's been living off and on in the Caribbean, entertaining tourists and locals alike in piano bars near the sandy beaches of St. Martin and Aruba. Jen plays all over Chicagoland but you might want to check her out at Evanston Space for a special evening of Acoustic Chicago on Wednesday November 26, 2008.
On Tuesday's election night, Jen was hammering away on the piano in the recording studio, working hard to put out her new album "Clever Compromise." On today's show, Jen debuts three never-heard before songs from this new album.
Listen as we talk with Jen about the new sex-drive enhancing patch for mature women, the mouse found inside a block of cheese and the jogger who got bitten by the fox.
Plus- Jen accompanies me in Marc's hilarious tribute to Sarah Palin, based on Elton John's "Candle in the Wind."

Yes we can people, yes we did! Voter anxiety was alleviated yesterday as the nation electad its first black President, the Senator from Illinois Barack Obama. We are thrilled.
Marc and I decided to get into the thick of it, celebrating the victory, surrounded by over a million supporters in Grant Park in downtown Chicago. History tends to draw a big crowd.
A huge and diverse crowd gathered to celebrate the victory and to hear the President-Elect drive home his message in his optimistic catchphrase "yes we can."
Has "yes we can" replaced "oh no she didn't?"
Marc described the event as a real-life fairy tale come true, and Senator John McCain was very gracious in his defeat. It almost felt like the whole event was coordinated. Did Barack Obama and John McCain coordinate their acceptance speeches or politics as usual?
Listen as our friends Rick Aiello and Garett Rock share their thoughts on what soon to be First Lady Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey wore. Boy did they stand out! Let your true colors shine through, even if they are Christmas red and parrot green. I personally can't wait until the Obamas move into the White House.

But seriously, why all the attacks?
I'm fairly new to Chicago and Chicago's LGBT community, but I can tell you I'm quite surprised by all the naysayers in this community. The personal attacks (warranted or not) of your leaders and those willing to step-out to show support for and to represent your community are so often (viciously) attacked.
As an outsider looking in, I find it sad. For others looking into this community it's not a great picture or representation of all the fine people in the community and many opportunities.
It seems you go from person to person with your attacks. Before the Feast of Fools you were attacking Lady Vera Parker. One would think you could turn the negative energy into positive and do so much for your community.
Keep the lipstick, but loose some of that pitbull.
