It's been awhile since I last posted so I thought I would disappoint my frenemies and give you an update on my life.  I've been in school 5 months now, and I have 5 more months to go.  I am LOVING what I've done and what I'm doing and know that I have found my niche in this world!  Hair is something I was obviously meant to do!  I think I plan on being a colorist rather than a stylist.  I absolutely love everything about color and I am so strong with it.......every client of mine has been thrilled with what I've done.

I am still on the clinic floor 3 days a week, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and would love to get some of my chicagopride friends to come and visit me for a style or color.  If you're interested in getting your hair did, email me and I can send you info on where the school is, etc. etc.  Its out in the burbs, so if you're willing to drive and receive a good haircut or color for relatively cheap, please do!  Email me at monique_marquette@yahoo.com and we'll talk!  Hope to see some of you soon!

It is Saturday, July 17th and I am sitting here at home waiting to head to O'Hare for my trip to Vegas with my school.  I just finished my finals yesterday and did extremely well.  I received a phone call from my instructor last night and I cumulatively ended up with a 97% on my written exams and a 95% on my "hands on" practicals.  If they ranked us, she said I would have been second in my class, behind a girl who already works in a salon and does hair/nails/waxing, etc.  So needless to say, I am so happy and can't wait until I get to graduate in February.
