"Gay acting" men-- :-)
So, some see me as intolerant because I am critical of the "straight acting" thing. Let's look at this from another angle: why should we be ashamed of being "gay acting?" Here, let me say that each person-- L, G, B, T, Q, I, S, etc.-- is unique, and there is no monolithic "gay" or "straight" lifestyle. But I think it is problematic that if a gay man is masculine-- strong, independent, athletic, etc.-- some see this as "straight acting." Why do we give straight men a monopoly on these qualities? Why can't gay men (and women across the sexual spectrum) be assertive, smart, and into sports? There also seems to be an underlying hostility toward "feminine" gay men. What I LOVE about MANY gay men is the wonderful mix of masculine and feminine traits they embrace: being empowered, intellectually vibrant, rugged, AND sensitive, compassionate, romantic and so on. Why reduce everything to an either/or equation? Is there anything more sexy than a guy who can change your oil AND make you a gourmet meal? I applaud people across the gender and sexual spectrum who don't fit neatly into boxes built by dominant society. Sometimes it's good to shake things up a bit. As a segue way to today's primaries in Texas and Ohio, who is more "straight/gay acting:" Hillary or Barack? :-)

"Straight acting" men
OMG! Why the fuc! would I want a straight acting guy? I am gay-- queer!, and I want a guy that is gay too so his "behavior" should be gay not straight. Straight guys fuck women (which I know feels fantastic, but the romantic part is missing-- hello!). Though I would love to hear peoples' perspectives on what this whole "straight acting" thing is about. Closet cases? Bottoms with deep shame? Tops who really want to take it? 20 year olds who aren't out yet?
It depends upon what you mean by "straight-acting." If you mean guys who are closeted, you are right. But if you mean masculine dudes who naturally manly in the stereotypical sense, I have no problem with that. Most men who are attracted to men are normal, masculine dudes, who are not into stereotypical gay culture and do not identify as queer. Being gay or bisexual should not necessarily mean that you are any different in interests, mannerisms, appearance than heterosexual counterparts. It only means that you are attracted to males. Nothing more.
Why be so narrow??
Everyone's different!
Some act like boys, some like girls. I happen to be a guy who likes them a little more queeny. Sometimes I'm attracted to a man's man. In the end, we all like it in the end!
Perhaps if you were more open you would find some quality guys.
