So I spent my New Years Eve alone .. in my room downloading music from Itunes and I'm quite proud, usually I don't pay for music but Musinah. Hezekiah. Ohmega Watts and Stacy Epps are worth the money!



I wanted to do things a little different this year and I did. It's like if I had went out and gotten drunk I wouldn't have experienced the experiences I experienced today! I got up about 11:00 am. Out the door by 12:45 .. on the blue line headed toward Damen. I met a friend for lunch at a Vegetarian restaurant. As alot of my friends know I have become a Vegetarian for the New Year .. the restuarant called Sultans Market .. it's fucking good food. So my friend orders my food because I have no idea what to get.

We get Falafel, Lentil soup and Spinach Pie. - if this food wasn't good I don't know what good food is yo.

We ended our meeting with random conversation about family and farming - lol. peace Linds.

I did a little thrift shopping as usual. The Brown Elephant was closed :-( I did stop at Crossroads Trading. Ragstock. and Urban Outfitters .. I didn't buy much .. what meant the most to me is finding the Bookstore that stays open until 1:00am.

So I pick my niece up from her play practice this evening and she hands me a paper about "Black History" month.. so I'm already heated.

I'm like well I'm going to give you someone to write about .. like the real revolutionaries ie Nat Turner ..

But she says .. "Tee-Tee they gave me a list to chose from!"..

I'm thinking if this mother fucking list has Martin Luther King on it .. I'll kill everyone..

But .. it doesnt..

It has .. Malcolm X, Assata Shakur, Marcus Garvey, Bobby Seale and Huey Newton.

So Friday night .. I'm on my way back to my bestfriends house with her .. we'd stopped for food .. and I get this random ass phone call ..

Caller: Can I speak to Decoi?
Dec: Speaking ..
Caller: How are you ma?
Dec: Fine.. how are you?
Caller: I'm good .. do you know who this is?
Dec: Nope.. but don't tell me let me guess!
Caller: Sure, go right ahead
Dec: Did we sleep together this year? - sarcasm
Caller: Yes!
Dec: -confused silence-

So yeah it's my ex-girlfriend in which all of my friends know I've been looking for for about 3 months.. we had a really abrupt and inappropriate break up and hadn't heard from each other since..

But I wrote her a letter letting her know I was sorry and I put my new cellphone number on the letter .. and well I guess she recieved it because she called.. 2 and a half months later..

We make plans for her to come to my bestfriends house and for us to spend some time together and talk ...

I ditched my new chick .. for the entire weekend to spend reigniting an old flame that I am not glad died.

After the attitudes and incosistencies I see now why we aren't together yet and still we both gained closure .. and now I feel like if I never see her again I'll be happy ..

Closure is what we all need.. know that..
