Stuck in Time.
Now that the Holidays are over and the new year has commenced, I cannot help but feel like I am still stuck in 2007. Christmas didn't feel like Christmas and New Years was pretty damn mellow, which I really didn't mind.
I guess, for me, it was not about the new year, but a new chapter in my life that is about to begin. A chapter that I feel I cannot start until Jan. 25th. Ironically, not only is this day special because I will be turning 33, but because we will finally close on our house and move in!
This past weekend I left the country to see how the house was comming along and we could not be more impressed or excited with its development! While staying in Chicago, it was great to go out with friends and have a great time. A passing that was all too familiar and easily overlooked when I was younger.
Being in Chicago was great, but the coutry does change you. For example, I was so exited to ride the train, something that I had done all my life, only to realize that the carts had a specific "funk" that made me think of the country air constantly.
All in all, I missed the hustle and bustle of city living. The people. Diversity. Good thing that within a couple of weeks I will be moving to the country, just outside of Chicago, but now will always have a special for place for the country COUNTRY!
Finally, I cannot thank our friends and family enough for helping us get through Holidays. Although our home is in its final stages of construction, we have felt welcomed and the love from every host these two past months. So for that thank you!
