Snowy days
Yesterday: Right at the intersection of Sheridan and Winthrop, snow kept on blowing in from the lake. Traffic on both ways on Sheridan were at stop and I was at Winthrop about to turn a right onto Sheridan. We could not move for minutes because one car going northbound broke down and what made it worse was a car got stuck in the thick snow near the sidewalk on the southbound lane of Sheridan. For some reason, everyone was waiting for something to happen, like the car going southbound could eventually get out of the snow easily. So I turned off my car, got out, and ran towards the stuck car. I told him I was going to push the car to budge it a little as it accelerates forward. The problem was the back of the car kept sliding sideways to the right towards the sidewalk where there was more snow. He backed up. Then moved forward. Then I pushed. Again. And again. Fortunately another guy walking home from the train station stopped by to help push the car out. We pushed and pushed. I slipped many times. We pushed again. Eventually the car got out and the first thing I noticed was that my ears were burning and my face was frozen. My fingers were tingling with pain. I wasn't wearing any gloves nor a hat. I was driving. So I ran and ran back to my car to warm up. I got in. The pain subsides. Just when I was about to move, a taxi cab, a few cars behind the car that just got stuck, got stuck. Fortunately another guy came in to the rescue. He pushed the car away from the sidewalk as the car moved forward. A couple push and it was good. The whole time I was thinking that a little help could go so far. I probably would not be able to make that much of a difference by pushing the car out by myself, having a small build and all, but it sure did get others to start helping.

A little help could go so far.

Let's not get stupidity and helping mixed up, I don't mean on your part. I never help people that are stuck in the snow! If you take a long good look from far you'll notice that it's always somebody that doesn't know how to drive and shouldn't be driving in this type of weather!!! I've seen a lot of people stuck in the snow and they aren't using the proper technique for getting out of the snow (yes there is a technique). It drives me mentle, especially the people that are driving these pieces of junk that should've been put to rest years ago. And old people, if you're over 65 I don't think you should be driving anyway.
well if you know a technique to get out of the snow, then that should be a better reason to help out...the more people learn about this..the less it will occur.

I know that setting your car on "LOW" instead or "DRIVE" helps. I haven't tried it. I haven't got stuck yet.
Funny...
I hope it's big enough...this is for the computer lovers.

I still could not decide between a PC or an Apple. I'm thinking of getting a new computer and I'm torn between the two. Basically, I like how the Mac looks, but the PC is more user friendly. The Mac is all about creativity, but only PCs can run Autocad. Hmmm...

Vista or Leopard?

Christina....bring me the axe!
Take away my gay card. Would you believe that I just saw Mommie Dearest tonight? I've been seeing some clips at Sidetrack and I di find it amusing. But I'm not quite sure what the gays love about this film? It's just about some wash-ed up "diva" (ish) lady beating up her kid. Then again I do not know anything about Joan Crawford. But I really like the phrase in the cover of the dvd that says "the illusion of perfection."

I wonder if people I think live perfect lives are not really so perfect. Especially in the gay community, it's all about what you have, who you are with, and how you look. It's quite a high standard to live up to I must say. But what I do not understand is why do we all buy into it? You'd think we're smart enough...(I hope so).

I know I am not perfect and I can never be. I can only be perfect in my own way. And sometimes I hate myself for giving in even though it makes me happy. I guess the question there is does it genuinely make me happy? Hmmm...I'm thinking too much.

Now let's talk about the "no drama" issue. Why is a person with "no drama" seem appealing? I'm not so sure there is such a life that has no drama. Everyone has problems and eveyone has issues...I'm probably reading too much into it I suppose.

My hubby left this morning back to MN and I miss him already...

Chicago Bears
Oh...I'm actually quite relieved the whole Bears thing is over. See what happens when people start bragging and become overconfident?

This is for the Bears fans who annoyed me for the past two weeks -- BOOHOO! You lose!

It would have been nice for them to win, though. But i suppose it's not meant to be.

I was not at work today but I heard not many people were around...Mourning maybe?

vacation's over..
have you ever had a vacation that you wished never ended? Even if this vacation is right at home?

My hubby and I hung out since Friday. He came from Minneapolis. And today I took him to the John Hancock Observatory. The place was empty but it was wonderful to see all the great views of the Chicagoland. No people there to block your view nor there was any long lines as if it was a ride at six flags. Tonight is our last night of this vacation and he flies back tomorrow. I miss him already.

I know. You're probably asking why am I wasting my time blogging when I could be tearin down the sheets with him right now? Well, we've been watching movies and he actually fell asleep. Besides, we have all day tomorrow. I took the day off as well.

My friend btw has videos of the shower contest and no photos...so I wont be posting anything about the shower contest just as I mentioned on the previous entry.

Movies tonight : Ice age: the meltdown and Step Up.

Music tonight: All through the night - Cyndi Lauper.

Food of the day: Hamburger Mary's Cala-Mary and Mini me's
