Email my Heart
So cheezy you say...Hahah...read on.
Email My Heart
It's been hours, seems like days
Since you went away
And what I do is check the screen
To see if you're okay
You don't answer when I phone
Guess you wanna be left alone
So I'm sending you my heart, my soul
And this is what I'll say
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry
Can't you give me one more chance
To make it all up to you?
Email my heart and say our love will never die
I know you're out there and I know that you still care
Email me back and say our love will stay alive
Forever, email my heart
I can see you in my mind coming on the line
And opening this letter that I've sent a hundred times
Here's a picture of us two
I look so good on you
And can't you please forgive me for the hurt I put you through?
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry
Can't you give me one more chance
To make it all up to you?
Email my heart and say our love will never die
I know you're out there and I know that you still care
Email me back and say our love will stay alive
Forever, email my heart
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry
Can't you give me one more chance
To make it all up to you?
Email my heart and say our love will never die
I know you're out there and I know that you still care
Email me back and say our love will stay alive
Forever, forever
Forever, email my heart
a song by Britney Spears
-------------------------
One thing I love about Filipinos and my culture in general is our appreciation, almost an obsession, to the romaticism of pretty much everything. In poetry, music, and especially films, romance is always present and usually has a huge part. Other than hospitality, I think Filipinos should also be known to be romantic...like R. Kelly (inside joke here)...LOL.
I too am guilty of this Filipino trait. I grew up watching movies about the power of love and devotion, whether that may be through relationships, family, and God.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that the whole idea of love makes me feel good. And the feeling is unquestionable that way. It is what is is.
Then what is up with the Britney Spears? This is where my huge appreciation in music comes in. The lyrics are pretty obvious. It's tells a story about a broken heart and the request for forgiveness. But aside from the lyrics, the music itself brings the lyrics to life. The progression to the chorus and the notes bring out the emotions its trying to express. And in my opinion, it is what makes a composition successful.
It's a simple song, unlike the songs from la Traviata, but that's the beauty of it all. It's simple yet it full of emotions.
Sometimes I find it interesting when I find a song, like it, then realize it's in another language I don't even understand.
Other songs that made it in my list(not necessariy romantic songs).
"Stan" by Eminem
"It's just you tonight" by Lucy Kaplansky
"A case of you" by Joni Mitchell
“Out of the woods” and “The lighthouse’s tale” by Nickel Creek
"Behind these hazel eyes" by Kelly Clarkson
"I belong to me" by Jessica Simpson
"First Love" by Utada Hikaru
"Fallen" by Sarah Mclachlan
“Obsession” by Frankie J
"Not ready to make nice" by Dixie Chicks
"Baby don't you break my heart slow" by Vonda Shepard
"Secretly" by Skunk Anansie
"Foolish Games" by Jewel
"Because I'm a girl" by Kiss (Korean)
"Independence day" by Martina Mcbride
"Crazy for you" by Madonna
.....and some others.

GOT TESTED?
I was tested three weeks ago and got my results a week after....I am fine.
It is a great feeling knowing that I am okay. Being the type of a guy who worries, sometimes too much as I have been told, it was a huge relief. Yes I am talking about HIV. Do you know much about it?
Being gay and all I could not help but think that it is only smart to check every so often. Then again this is as much of a problem in the straight world as in the gay world so a person doesn't necessarily have to be gay to have to check every so often. My previous one was about two years ago. I'm not trying to dwell on my paranoia on getting it but it is only safe to be extra careful about it. I could not even reiterate it enough. Safe sex, safe sex, safe sex, safe sex....or else abstinence. Obviously I ain't choosing the last one...so I have to be extra safe.
But I am glad to have gotten the test. Knowing made a huge difference. Knowing gave me the confidence. Knowing meant I cared about myself and others.
What pisses me about this whole topic are others who are ignorant about it. I'm not sure why there's such a huge population who look down upon this issue. They think negatively of others who are. But why? Most also think that HIV equals Gays. I think that's just wrong.
I know at least 4 people who are HIV/AIDS positive. All of their stories are different. It made me think that it is wrong to judge a person just on his/her HIV status. I can't help but remember when I was little how my elders talked about it negatively, how they stereotyped, how they judged, how they reacted. I now realised how shameful their reactions were.
So go and get tested. Check http://www.howardbrown.org/ for information.

Happy B-day
It was a fun party with lots of drinks. I sure did fill up on Diet Coke. Met some peeps and saw others I've met before. Afterwards it was Roscoe's. Then it was late late late night snack/dinner at my friend Ovs. The "lugaw" was delicious...I have not had it in years...9 to be exact.
