Faith in God

If you have a strong faith in God...don't play this.

I agree to what was said in this video clip...to be rational. But I still feel that life is not all rational or logical...and though there are things in life that logic cannot answer maybe this is where my Faith comes in to answer them. But is that really being delusional? I always thought that Faith is what makes a person stronger...but it may be something that makes me weak. Maybe it is delusional. Maybe it isn't. It did however put me into defense mode. But why? I also have always thought that religion is what gives a man the values and descipline to be a good person and to be good to the society. But as I grow older I see that it is the opposite. So sometimes I let go of faith...but you know at times when society isn't there for you, at least your faith is always there for you.

Of course that video put you in a defense mode, because it told you how to think. That's the problem I have with any fundalmentalist ideal, as well any socially unpopular agenda that challenges the mainstream. I find their proponents often are so passionally convicted that they fail to offer their arguments objectively; they can't offer a rational debate without enforcing their strong personal opinion or the possibility that other opinions can fairly co-exist with their own--basically, it has to be their way and I don't agree. I feel that everyone's personal belief system should be respected, even if it conflicts with my own.

Acceptance is the precursor to embrace, neither of which can be achieved if we don't practice tolerance.

what's the deal with people telling others what to do. religion does it..the video does it. why is there such a need for people to turn everything around them into something like themselves?

Ever stay at a really nice hotel? The accomodations and service are likely better than what you're accustomed to at home--yet, you're probably always grateful and happy to return home nonetheless.

There's comfort and security in what we are familiar with, what we know and understand. People want to feel comfortable in their world. Extremists have a hard time relating to things they don't understand, it makes them uncomfortable so they try to change it.

Truman Sleeps

I cleaned my apartment and everything is in place. Turned off the tv and played this song. I lay on the carpet and closed my eyes. I breathe in slowly as the song plays. Ahhh relaxation!!!

It'll be another lake trip next Friday and I can't wait to get away. For the past couple of months I have been experiencing nothing but stress. Stressed to the point of changing my work out habits and eating habits...I lost 16 lbs. To you it may sound good, but to me it does nothing but only reminds me of those weeks. I'm not surprise if ever I accelerated my aging around the time...(SIGH)...got to relax.

So I'm back to 151 lbs...and I'd like to think running more did a big part of it. It's okay...as long as I stay fit and healthy..that's all that matters.

I've been thinking about going back to the Philippines to visit next year. It excites me especially when I am going to get another extra week of vacation from work. Oh Pilipinas I will see you again.

Karaoke Nights

Karaoke rocks!

I've been to Roscoes Karaoke night for three times now and I must say...It's fun. I may have to do this twice a month...hehehe. Usually if ever I were to go out on a weekday it would be on Thursday. But Wednesday isn't bad at all. I wish there were more selections of songs available because I do not know maybe 80 percent of all the songs...ugh!

I feel better now. My throat is healed and my neck pain is non-existent.

I was in Evanston this afternoon and there was a major cycling race going on there. and woohoo...men is bike shorts are hot. Something about the look of it that I find appealing. So there were some good number of men in tights. Mmm mmm good.

I finally got my own copy of The Sounds albums...I have been listening to them for a while now but haven't heard all their songs...So that was cool...they were on sale.

Cervical Strain

I had a cervical strain for the last two days and am now just getting better. But OH EM GEE the pain was unbearable. I could not rotate or tilt my head at all. Getting into and out of bed seems tedious and exhausting. I was uncomfortable most of the sleep and kept waking up every two hours. And this is aside from the sore throat (i think it's laryngitis..from overuse of my voice...singing) that I have..life was not easy.

Cheap Date:
I went out on Saturday night with some friends and OH EM GEE I was tipsy...right after drinking a glass of Fuzzy Navel. Usually I can take two of three but one? The worst part though of the night was I was with a group and they all have their own preference....one likes Minibar...the other likes Sidetrack...etc etc. This is when going with friends does not work. You cannot enjoy one single place and you keep moving on and moving on. Then again I can't blame them if they have diferrent tastes (in men)...hahah.
